We at the Mailworks understand
that your mailing is important and can be time sensitive. We make every reasonable
effort to meet your time requirements, but due to factors beyond our control,
The Mailworks will not be liable for certain circumstances that may cause both
a delay in your mailing and an increase in your postage and invoice amounts.
1. All quotes are valid
for 30 days and do not include postage cost. Increased costs may be assessed
if quantities change or if job specifics are different than originally described.
Also, if copy is received in poor condition additional charges may be assessed.
An overweight surcharge will be assessed on all copy weighing over 3.3oz. All
jobs are subject to a minimum charge.
2. Postage Estimates are
subject to USPS approval. We do our best to give you an accurate postage amount
but we have no control over USPS processing. Payment of postage is required
in advance for all mailings.
Credit cards are accepted
for postage payment, however a service charge of up to 3.75% will be added.
We also require that payment for services be included in this transaction. Surcharge
does not apply to services.
Postage rates may also increase
due to color of mail piece, weight of paper, some recycled paper, gloss and
reflectants of the paper, mailing piece weight, size, or shape. The Mailworks
suggest all mail pieces have an address block with a minimum 4 ½”
x 2” matte finish white area to insure postal acceptance and lower postage
rates.
In the event
that your mail project does not pass USPS Merlin testing due to
barcode readability, The Mailworks reserves the right to hold the
mail and to label over the address block with a Peel & Stick
or Cheshire label to correct the problem.
3. Customer Copy: Price
quotes are based on the assumption that all materials are in good condition
and meet equipment manufacturer specifications. Any materials that do not meet
these standards or are not in machine-able condition do to poor folding, trimming,
packaging, materials sticking together, etc, will be subject to an additional
charge to cover labor and machine cost.
The Mailworks will make
every effort to insert material in the sequence and direction the customer request,
but quoted prices assume the most advantageous assembly order and production
speeds. Unless otherwise agreed upon, specific sequence or facing may result
in additional charges.
The Mailworks will not accept
responsibility for copy that arrives at our facility without proper identification
on each box and packing slips describing materials and quantities. We cannot
be responsible to verify quantities in cartons, only the number of cartons delivered.
The Mailworks is not responsible
for delays in processing your project due to a shortage in copy, copy that must
be processed slowly, or due to copy not arriving on schedule. If copy is not
designed to original specifications, this may also cause delays. Additional
cost and minimum charges may apply in these cases.
4. We cannot be held liable
for data supplied by the customer or list broker or for list errors created
within the computer processing of a job due to bad data.
We recommend that all data
files be accompanied by a field and label layout. We cannot be held responsible
for errors that may occur if we are not supplied with this very important information.
The Mailworks is not liable
for grammatical, technical, or layout errors that the customer has signed off
on or approved verbally.
5. Always take into consideration
spoilage with the handling and processing of your Direct Mail project. A 5%
overage is standard practice.
6. The Mailworks has no
control over and cannot be held responsible for the delivery schedule of the
USPS, nor can we accept responsibility for when the mail is delivered.
7. Leftover copy can be
held at The Mailworks for 10 business days. The Mailworks can recycle or ship
your leftover copy UPS, USPS or courier at your expense. Unless special arrangements
have been made, we cannot be responsible for leftover copy remaining at our
facility for more than ten business days after your project has been completed.
8. The Mailworks reserves
the right to receive payment on past due invoices before a current project is
released from our facility.
9. In the event of an error
The Mailworks will re-mail a correction as soon as possible to rectify
the mistake. Damages due from the mailing house to the customer
shall be limited to the value of the work performed. In no case
is the mailing house liable for loss of business or incidental or
consequential damages or costs in excess of billing for services
related to the specific job.
10. POSTAGE
estimates provided by The Mailworks are 100% accurate, but 99% of
the time, the final decision for total postage due is made by the
United States Postal Service, and only after they have examined
the finished mailing. Therefore a POSTAGE estimate shall only be
used as an estimate until the mailing has been completely finished,
submitted and accepted by the United States Postal Service, plus
any additional surcharges that may apply.
